Good morning. Today is the 137th day of the year. It is the birth anniversary (1928) of baseball player and manager Billy Martin, born in Berkeley, Calif. Martin’s career included managerial stints with five teams: the New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics. He is most remembered in the New York area for his on-again, off-again relationship with Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, for whom he managed the Yankees five different times.

Well-known people who were born today include actress Tracey Gold (“Growing Pains”), singer Janet Jackson, former baseball player John Scott Morris, Hall of Fame tennis player Gabriela Sabatini and actor Pierce Brosnan (“The Ghost Writer,” “The Thomas Crown Affair”).
