This photo was featured in the picture section of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle of May 10, 1905. The caption read: “The battleship Alabama has returned from the long winter’s work in the Southern waters. She will go into dry dock at the Brooklyn Navy Yard the first week in June. The Alabama is the first of half a dozen big warships which are to be cleaned and overhauled at the yard before the arrival of midsummer.”
