Three Brooklyn Democrats Snag Most Council Discretionary Spending

The Daily News yesterday reported that three Brooklyn Democrats — Domenic Recchia (Gravesend/Coney Island), Erik Dilan (Cypress Hills/East New York/Bushwick) and Lew Fidler(Canarsie/Flatlands/Bergen Beach) topped the list of discretionary spending by City Council members. Each received more than $10 million in funding. Citizens Union Executive Director Dick Dadey says the funds should be handed out "more objectively" and that "the City Council speaker and some of the other leaders have too much say."
