Students Admitted to Prestigious Programs

Saint Saviour High School in Park Slope continues to add to its already superior academic reputation. Recently Saint Saviour students earned the following academic accolades:

Senior Dianisbeth Acqui has been accepted to Harvard University. Also, for the second year in a row Acqui has earned a perfect score on the National Latin Exam. Last year when she scored a 100 percent on the first-year National Latin Exam, the National Junior Classical League/American Classical League revealed in its congratulations letter to her that only .005 percent of the students who take the examination achieve a perfect score. (If that few number of students earn perfect scores on just one exam, imagine how few achieve perfection on two exams!)

Senior Guadalupe Terrones earned a perfect score on the first-year National Latin Exam.

Sophomore Imani Greeves and Junior Gabby Curasco will be attending The Cooper Union Summer Research Internship Program in the school of Engineering. 304 students applied for the program city-wide, but only 90 are accepted. The criteria is that the students have to write an essay, get a letter or recommendation from a math or science teacher and have, in the words of the Cooper Union, "very good" grades in math and science.

Juniors Hanna Loff and Katherine O'Shea will participate in the Manhattan College Summer Program for women and minority HS students in science and engineering. The 10-day program focuses on science, engineering and SAT preparation and is co-sponsored by the ACE Mentorship Program, the Metropolitan Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the General Contractors' Association, as well as individual corporate sponsors.
