Brooklyn Public Library will host the Ezra Jack Keats Family Festival: A Snowy Day in May at the library’s main branch on Sunday, May 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. This event is named after Keats’ Caldecott Award-winning book The Snowy Day, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Family-friendly activities will include balloon sculptures, face paintings, a presentation from the Brooklyn Youth Choir (1–2 p.m.), a reading of The Snow Day by Deborah Pope (2–3 p.m.), art workshops by artist Felix Plaza and illustrator Taeeun Yoo, a book signing by author/illustrator Melanie Hope Greenberg, and more.

The events take place in Central Library Plaza, 10 Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn. In case of rain, activities will be held at the library’s Dweck Center.
