BROOKLYN (AP) — The 6-year-old brother of a little Brooklyn girl found drugged, beaten and starved is testifying in the murder case against his mom.

Tymel Pierce spoke Thursday from a closed-circuit TV in another part of the Brooklyn court as jurors watched.

His mother, Carlotta Brett-Pierce, is charged with murder in the death of her 4-year-old daughter Marchella (mahr'-SHEH'-luh).

The grandmother, Loretta Brett, is also on trial. Both women have pleaded not guilty in her death.

The boy says his little sister rarely ate or was fed.

Marchella was found dead in September 2010. Prosecutors say she was tied to her bed, beaten, drugged and starved. At her death, prosecutors say her stomach contained one kernel of corn.
