MAS Arts Forum Attracts Community Planners, Developers, Urban Leaders

MANHATTAN — A special Arts Forum featuring urban leaders from around the country in the fields of real estate development, design, economic development and community planning will take place on Tuesday, April 24, at the National Museum of the American Indian in Lower Manhattan.

Titled “Measuring Vibrancy: The Impacts of Arts and Culture Investments in Placemaking,” the goal of the event is to discuss options for measuring the impacts of creative placemaking. It is being convened by the Municipal Art Society (MAS) and ArtPlace and is supported by ArtPlace and The Rockefeller Foundation.

Moderated by Carol Coletta, president of ArtPlace, the panel will include Joe Cortright, president and principal economist at Impresa, Portland, Oreg.; Kevin Stolarick, research director at The Martin Prosperity Institute, Rotman School of Management, Toronto; Harriet Tregoning, director of the Washington, D.C., Office of Planning; and Sue Mosey, president of Midtown Detroit, Detroit, Mich.

The event will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m., with a reception to follow. The National Museum of the American Indian is at 1 Bowling Green at Lower Broadway.
