BROOKLYN (AP) — The NYPD is looking for a suspect who sexually attacked two women after threatening them with a hammer.

Police say both incidents occurred in Brooklyn on Monday, April 9.

In the first attack, which took place near the Gates Avenue subway station at about 12:40 a.m. on Monday, the suspect forced an 18-year-old into a back alley and raped her.

About 11 hours later, he followed a 22-year-old woman into her Brownsville apartment where he attempted to rape her. Police say she was able to fend him off and flee.

In each case, the suspect displayed a hammer and threatened to hit the victims with it.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned black man, 20 to 22 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches and weighing about 150 pounds. In the first attack, he was wearing black-framed glasses, a Rich Yung-brand cap and a dark jean jacket.
