BROOKLYN (AP) — New York’s attorney general says four people have been arrested in a scheme to distribute black market prescription HIV drugs in Brooklyn and Long Island
Eric Schneiderman says in a press release the four are also accused of defrauding the Medicaid program of $155 million.

The prosecutor says the scheme was run through pharmacies in Brooklyn and in Suffolk County on eastern Long Island.

Charges include grand larceny, money laundering, commercial bribery and bribe receiving.

An indictment charges an official at MOMS pharmacy with accepting bribes to purchase black market HIV medications. Three others were also charged in the indictment unsealed Wednesday. The drugs were then sold to MOMS customers. Many of them were Medicaid recipients.

A man answering the telephone at a MOMS pharmacy on Long Island said the company had no comment.
