Good morning. Today is the 96th day of the year. It is the birth anniversary (1916) of actor Gregory Peck. Peck was one of Hollywood’s most popular leading men. Nominated five times for Best Actor, he finally won the Oscar for his role in To Kill a Mockingbird in 1962. Other popular films included Roman Holiday, Gentleman’s Agreement and Spellbound.
 
Well-known people who were born today include filmmaker Roger Corman, actor Michael Moriarty (Bang the Drum Slowly, “Law & Order”), actor Mitch Pileggi (“The XFiles”) and former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell.
