A Brooklyn construction worker is dead after part of a house collapsed on him Tuesday morning, according to Fire Department officials who spoke to The New York Times.

The 25-year-old man, Santos Garcia of Borough Park, was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Times.

Officials with the Buildings Department said the structure wasn’t properly anchored, according to the Daily News, which reports, "Workers said it happened in an instant."

The man was fatally injured when the upper portion of a two-and-a-half-story house at 40 Frank Court in Gerritsen Beach broke away from the foundation, as reported by the Times. Three other workers at the construction site also suffered injuries, none of them life-threatening.
