Brooklyn Arts Council Awards Grants for Community Projects

Brooklyn Arts Council awarded 214 grants totaling over $389,000 to artists and arts organizations throughout Brooklyn at a ceremony and reception at Brooklyn Borough Hall on Thursday, March 22. Grants were given to carry out community-based arts projects in the borough. Seen here, left to right, are Laurie Cumbo of the Museum of the Contemporary African Diaspora (MoCADA); Seth Edwards, vice president of community relations for JPMorgan Chase; Ella Weiss, president of Brooklyn Arts Council; Lisa Robb, executive director of the New York State Council on the Arts; Dr. Thomas Schutte, chairman of the board of the Brooklyn Arts Council, and Kate Levin, commissioner of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
