More than 1,400 small business owners and entrepreneurs filled the hall at Trade Brooklyn, a business to business trade show held at Steiner Studios at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, according to organizers.

“Trade Brooklyn set an attendance record and we were able to create a forum for people to interact, generate leads and do business,” said Jonathan Levin of the Cardinal Trade Group and producer of the Brooklyn event. “Business deals were made and the foundation for future business in the region was built.  Attendees left the event energized and many with new ideas and strategies.”

Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, who welcomed the exhibitors and visitors at a kickoff networking breakfast, said he recognized the importance of small business owners and government leaders working together to support the Brooklyn business community and surrounding areas.

Trade Brooklyn’s seminar series, including business owner panels, attracted large crowds and covered practical business growth topics, from branding to social media marketing to health care reform, and were described by attendees as “diverse, educational and informative.”

Commented Peter Meyer, chair of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and president of TD Bank’s NYC Market, “Trade Brooklyn is the type of event Brooklyn needs to promote synergies between local business owners. The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is proud to support Jonathan Levin’s effort to create a forum for business owners and the public to interact. The panel of Brooklyn business owners delivered great insight into their own personal entrepreneurial stories, which was an appropriate and inspiring way to start the day.”
