DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — CPEX Real Estate reports it is relocating this week from 350 Livingston St., where it has been for four years, to new office space not far away at 81 Willoughby St.

The eight-story office building at the corner of Lawrence St. has been designated an individual landmark. CPEX will be on the top floor where there are 16-foot ceilings and elaborate stained glass skylights, according to managing partners Timothy King and Brian Leary.

The new CPEX space, at 8,000 square feet, is double the size of the firm’s current office and will accommodate approximately 50 workstations as well as conference rooms, a lunchroom and a training room that will feature an extensive library.

“The growth of our sales and leasing teams, in addition to the increased demand for our business services, advisory and acquisition teams has created a need for larger space” said Gregory Roberts, COO.

Added Leary, “We continue to attract and hire some of the best talent available.”

Currently, CPEX has a dozen agents, brokers and staff working in under 4,000 square feet at 350 Livingston, according to King.

It should be noted that it was also “a must” for the brokerage to find new office space for another reason: the building at 350 Livingston St. was sold and will be demolished.

As the Brooklyn Eagle reported in December and again in February, the building was one of a package of four contiguous properties acquired by Steiner NYC on which chairman Doug Steiner has said he plans to construct a 52-story mixed-use residential tower with 720 apartments and 50,000 square feet of retail space at its base.
