Good morning. Today is the 86th day of the year. It is the birth anniversary (1911) of American playwright Tennessee Williams. Among his many works were The Glass Menagerie, A Streetcar Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Night of the Iguana and Sweet Bird of Youth. He died in 1983.

Well-known people who were born today include actress Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing), author Erica Jong (Fear of Flying, Becoming Light), actor Leonard Nimoy (“Star Trek”), former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, singer-actress Diana Ross (Lady Sings the Blues, The Wiz), author Bob Woodward (All the President’s Men with Carl Bernstein) and singer Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.

Effective today, street cleaning/alternate side parking regulations will be temporarily suspended in parts of Sunset Park, Greenwood Heights and Windsor Terrace until further notice. The city Department of Transportation is changing regulations and is in the process of posting new signs. Once the sign changes are complete, the new regulations will take effects.
