According to The New York Times, New York Road Runners will reconfigure the course of the Brooklyn Half Marathon so that more runners can participate. The race previously included two laps around Prospect Park before participants ran to Ocean Parkway and on to the finish line at Coney Island. This year, runners will start on Washington Avenue near the Brooklyn Museum, run one lap around Grand Army Plaza and then race down Flatbush Avenue, across Parkside Avenue and into the park. From there, the race will proceed as before, down Ocean Parkway to Coney Island. It will take place on Saturday, May 19.
