Program on Purchasing Bank-Owned Properties, Foreclosure Prevention Planned March 26

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — The Pratt Area Community Council (PACC) will sponsor a Neighborhood Stabilization Assistance and Foreclosure Prevention Information Night on Monday, March 26, at Brown Memorial Baptist Church in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Organized by PACC’s Homeowner Services Department, the event will focus on NSP2, a new program administered by the New York Mortgage Coalition (NYMC) and the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) offering help to purchase bank-owned properties.

Topics will include the how-to of principal reduction and obtaining available funding, including up to $80,000 towards forgivable loans.

The free event, set to take place from 6 to 9 p.m., is made possible with help from the HPD, NYMC, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) and the office of Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Brown Memorial is at 484 Washington Ave., between Fulton Street and Gates Avenue.
