Good morning. Today is the 80th day of the year. It is the birth anniversary (1828) of Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. Among his best-known plays are Peer Gynt, An Enemy of the People, A Doll’s House and Hedda Gabbler.

Well-known people who were born today include Brooklyn-raised director Spike Lee (Do the Right Thing, She’s Gotta Have It, Malcolm X), jazz pianist Marian McPartland, Hall of Fame hockey player Bobby Orr,  actor Hal Linden (“Barney Miller”), and actor Carl Reiner (“The Dick Van Dyke Show,” “Your Show of Shows”).
