According to Carroll Gardens Patch, the reopening of the elevated Smith-9th Streets F and G subway station, originally scheduled for the end of this month, will be delayed until the fall. The station was closed last June for the renovation of the Culver Viaduct, which spans the Gowanus Canal and supports the station. Repairs are definitely under way, as any F or G rider who looks out the window at Smith-9th Streets can testify. The renovated station will have a new escalator system, a new turnstile area, new lighting, and rehabilitated stairs and platforms.
