Bonnaroo Creators Plan Free Food Fest at Prospect Park
There will be two days of peace and gluttony in Prospect Park this May. Superfly, the production company behind the popular Bonnaroo music festival, is bringing Brooklyn "The Great Googa Mooga," a new festival that promises to transform Prospect Park into "an amusement park of food and drink," according to the event's website.
The gourmet bacchanal, which is slated to include "75 food vendors, 35 brewers, 30 winemakers and 20 live music performances," will overtake the park on May 19 and 20, and Patch reports that producers are expecting crowds of 50,000 each day. Don't bet against them because the two-day feast is free.
Online registration for free general-admission tickets starts March 15, and while the event's musical offerings will come at no extra cost, dishes, samples and drinks will be selling in the five to 15 dollar range.
