A former Brooklyn teacher’s aide accused of child molestation as well as possessing and distributing child pornography, which allegedly included footage he took of himself molesting one of his students inside a Brooklyn classroom, was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday.

Taleek Brooks, 40, who worked at P.S. 243 in Crown Heights for 17 years before the FBI brought its first criminal complaint against him in January, was charged with several counts of sexual exploitation of a child, possessing child pornography, and distributing pornographic video and images of minors over the Internet, the New York Post reported.

As the Eagle reported in February, Brooks was first arrested on Jan. 19 after allegedly sending child pornography to an undercover FBI agent online. The ensuing search of his home and computer resulted in the discovery of more than 1,000 explicit digital images of children as young as 10 years old.

Brooks was re-arrested in February after further FBI scrutiny uncovered video footage on his hard drive that investigators believe depicts the former aide molesting a young boy in a P.S. 243 classroom.

Brooks is in custody without bail and will be arraigned next Wednesday, said Robert Nardoza, a spokesman for the Brooklyn U.S. Attorney's office, as reported by the Daily News.
