Small Business Expo Scheduled for Red Hook

RED HOOK — LaGuardia Community College Business Services and Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation will hold the Brooklyn Small Business and Procurement Exposition on March 9.

The forum provides regional and metropolitan-area small business owners with the chance to meet and speak with a large number of small businesses, government procurement representatives and prime contractors to explore sales opportunities and network. More than 150 exhibitors and 2,000 businesses are expected to attend.

The event includes guest speakers Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez,Councilwoman Diana Reyna, and President of NYC Economic Development Corporation Seth Pinsky. It also includes lunch with state Senator Velmanette Montgomery.

The expo is being held at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, 70 Imlay St., Pier 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation (SBIDC) is a nonprofit organization that provides free advocacy and services to help businesses in Sunset Park, Red Hook and Gowanus grow and create employment opportunities for local residents. SBIDC assists businesses with accessing incentives, financing, real estate selection, workforce, procurement, advocacy and commercial revitalization.
