Moscot, Old-Time Eyewear Store, Opens In Cobble Hill

For many in New York City, buying glasses means treking to the Lower East side to Moscot. This week Moscot has opened their first Brooklyn shop, in Cobble Hill at 159 Court Street.
Moscot co-President, Wendy Simmons said in a statement, “Our opening in Brooklyn is really a return to our roots since Brooklyn was the home of the third generation of Moscots.”
The new store includes period details from the original Moscot shop circa 1930, and “vintage pieces sourced from around the world.” Moscot’s website (moscot.com) says that the shop’s giant windows – “which bear an uncanny resemblance to the original Moscot storefront on Rivington Street, circa 1934 – provide the perfect canvas for us to entertain fans with an ever-changing series of whimsical displays.”
