SHEEPSHEAD BAY — U.S. Rep. Bob Turner (R-Brooklyn-Queens) isn’t waiting for constituents to come to his district office for help. He has decided to bring his office to them.

Turner announced that he would hold a series of satellite office events at locations throughout the 9th Congressional District starting on Jan. 20.

Turner’s senior caseworker will be at the Sheepshead Bay library branch, at 2636 E. 14th St. near Avenue Z, on Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Jan. 25, the caseworker will be at the Marine Park/Gerritsen Beach library branch at 2808 Gerritsen Ave. near Barlett Place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. “I want to ensure that my staff and I are able to provide the highest-level constituent services to constituents of the 9th District. These satellite congressional field office events will provide a more convenient location for many residents to receive needed federal assistance,” Turner said.

“Many residents are hard-working individuals who don’t have the time to travel even a couple neighborhoods over for an appointment. As well, there are also residents of Queens and Brooklyn who have difficulty getting around. These events will provide them an opportunity to meet with someone from my staff closer to home,” he continued.

“It can be a daunting task to maneuver the inner workings of a federal agency. I have put together a terrific staff of caseworkers who are extremely efficient at working to resolve issues with these agencies. They have years of experience and established relationships with liaisons within these offices,” said Turner.

Turner said he would continue holding the satellite field office events for the length of his term in office. The congressman is encouraging constituents to come to one of the satellite office events if they need help dealing with such agencies as the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration and Department of Veterans Affairs.
