New Corner Restaurant is celebrating its 75th anniversary with aspecial prix-fixe menu costing $19.36, commemorating the year itopened. The deal is in effect from Monday, December 5 throughThursday, December 8.

We are only here because our customers keep on coming back,said Vincent Colandrea, who co-owns the restaurant with hisbrother, Steven. It has been in our family for three generations.My grandfather started it as a small pizzeria and it expanded to afull-scale Italian restaurant, with a seating capacity of 280people.

New Corner’s food is delicious and comforting and the prix-fixedinner features all of the eatery’s best dishes. For just $19.36per person, the deal includes a glass of house wine or soda; choiceof an appetizer, such as baked clams or mozzarella carrozza andeggplant rollatine; choice of an entrée, such as boneless chickenscarpariello or the veal francese and chicken vincenzo combination;a choice of either Italian cheesecake or tortoni for dessert; andcoffee or tea. All entrees come with a potato croquette andvegetables, except those that indicate they are served with pasta.There will also be live music on the evenings of the celebrationbetween 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Colandrea said that all of the recipes are inherited from hisgrandfather and father. We still make traditional homemade pastas,like ravioli, manicotti and fettuccini, he said. All of ourtomatoes are imported from Italy, which is very important for thetaste of the sauces.
