PYO Football: Bucs triumph over Giants, 31-13

The Bucs built up a 21 to 13 half time lead and than relied on arock-solid defense in the second half as they defeated the Giants31 to 13 in a Major Division season opener.

The Bucs scored on their first three possessions. Anthony Olivacapped off the opening drive of the game by bolting in from thefive-yard line. J.P. Moran added the PAT for an early 7 – 0lead.

After a very short Giants punt, the Bucs tallied as QB DanielRyan followed Justin Grim Reaper Garthhaffner’s block to sneak infrom the three. A.J. Thunder Solecki added the 14th point todouble up the Bucs’ score.

On the next Giants’ possession, the ball was fumbled and waspounced on by the Bucs’ Michael Hammer Time Rossetti deep inGiants territory. Matt Deliso wasted no time as he swept the leftside for the Bucs third touchdown in as many possessions and whenMichael Bruiser DeGaetano scored the extra point, the Bucs led 21to 0.

But in the second quarter, the Giants got on the board. MichaelRusso recovered a Buc fumble, setting up a first and goal. JasiahDay Light Raso powered his way into pay dirt from the five andthen Justin Sundance Muccigrosso found Pasqualle Cangro open inthe end zone for the point after.

As time was winding down in the half, Nikolas Tuason passed toJeffrey Leone for a five-yard touchdown with only four ticks lefton the clock. The PAT was missed, leaving the Giants on the shortend of a 21 to 13 score at halftime.

The Bucs’ defense dominated the second half as Henry MeatGrinder Detesky and Brian Santanelli each came up with severalsolo tackles. But the Bucs offense was not sleeping as DanielSizzler Ryan fired two touchdown passes in the third and thefourth quarters. In the third, Ryan lofted a pass that J.P. SureThing Moran caught in the end zone for an 11-yard TD and than hefound Solecki for a six-yard TD with 5:11 left in the game.

This touchdown gave the Bucs a 33 to 13 lead and took the windout of the Giants’ sails as they were unable to muster any furtheroffense, giving the Bucs their first win of the season.
