HeartShare benefits from Kings of Kings event
A local not-for-profit group was the beneficiary of afundraising effort at the recent Kings of Kings event sponsored byThe Home Reporter and The Brooklyn Spectator.
HeartShare Human Services, a 97-year-old multifaceted humanservice agency that does most of its work in Brooklyn and Queens.helping out close to 30,000 people each year, received $2,350 indonations from attendees at last month’s Champions Awards andNetworking event at the El Caribe Country Club, who bought raffletickets over the course of the morning.
We’re very pleased that HeartShare was the charity of choicefor the Kings of Kings breakfast, said William Guarinello,HeartShare’s president and CEO. in these hard times, every centcounts. People are hurting even more, and need more services, andwe need donations like the one from The Spectator and HomeReporter.
It’s good leadership to have a corporate soul, he added.
People were very giving, stressed Joshua Schneps, co-publisherof The Home Reporter and Brooklyn Spectator.
Among HeartShare’s endeavors are early childhood programs fordevelopmentally disabled children and HIV and AIDS assistance forfamilies.
Among the raffle prizes that were offered were a pair of roundtrip airline tickets on JetBlue, provided by the airline, and twofour night/five day stays at a resort in Cancun or the MayanRiviera, donated by Peggy Noonan of WideWorldTravel/WorldVentures,www.wideworldtravel.biz.
