Health Dept spraying for West Nile in southwest Brooklyn
The NYC Department of Health will be spraying pesticides inparts of Greenwood Heights, Windsor Terrace and Park Slope thisWednesday, August 3, between the hours of 8:15 p.m. and 6 a.m. thefollowing morning.
The spraying is a preventive measure to halt the spread of theWest Nile virus, which is transmitted through mosquitos. Thepesticide in question – known as Anvil – is aimed at reducingmosquito activity.
In case of bad weather, the spraying will be postponed toThursday, August 4, also between 8:15 p.m. and 6 a.m. the followingmorning.
