Body discovered floating in Mill Basin marina still unidentified
The identity of a dead woman found floating in a Mill Basin marina on Monday afternoon is still unknown, according to the NYPD. The body was discovered around 3:20 p.m. near Avenue U and East 58th Street near Kings Plaza.
“The victim is a female in her late 20s or early 30s, fully clothed, with no ID,” a police spokesperson told the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, adding that police at the scene observed no obvious signs of trauma on the body. The Medical Examiner’s office is trying to determine ID and cause of death.
“I’ve been here 20 years, and I’ve never experienced anything like this,” Dolly Rago, owner of Dolly’s Ices, on the waterfront along Avenue U told the Eagle on Tuesday. “They got the body out of the water around 3:30, examined it, and wrapped it up until the coroner came about 7:30.” Ms. Rago added she didn’t see the body herself. “They told us to stay inside.”
