According to McBrooklyn, the city’s Board of Standards and Appeals has voted to delay a final vote on whether to allow a Whole Foods supermarket in Gowanus until Feb. 28. The focus at the board’s hearing was on the estimated $1.1 million it will take to excavate and grade the site. Whole Foods had requested a zoning variance, while about 25 community residents spoke against the project. A Whole Foods at the site has been planned since the mid-2000s.
