Real Estate Taxes, Development To Be Discussed at Luncheon

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — David M. Frankel, the city’s finance commissioner, will discuss the city budget and issues surrounding real estate taxes at the next meeting of the Brooklyn Real Estate Roundtable on Tuesday, May 1, at the Brooklyn Historical Society.

The Real Estate Roundtable is a quarterly luncheon series dedicated to examining, analyzing, reviewing and predicting the critical issues in Brooklyn real estate. In 2011, more than 100 real estate professionals — including developers, architects, brokers, bankers, lawyers and retailers — attended each luncheon. All proceeds benefit Brooklyn  Historical Society programs.

In addition to Frankel, other speakers scheduled for the May 1 luncheon include:

• Dan Hartman, principal at ARES Management, who will discuss the properties he has developed in Brooklyn over the past decade and strategies for navigating the peaks and valleys of the development and financing markets; and

• Michael Matrisciani, principal at Matri Holdings LLC, who will discuss the development of Fourth Avenue in Brooklyn and the impact it is having on the surrounding communities.

The luncheon event will take place beginning at noon. The Brooklyn Historical Society is at 128 Pierrepont St., corner of Clinton Street in Brooklyn Heights.
