Police Officer Rob Campbell (center) of the 70th Precinct stopped by St. Agatha School in Sunset Park to teach children in all grade levels about staying safe in and out of school. Campbell, a patrol officer, taught these preschoolers the basics, like what to do if they get lost, the importance of knowing their phone numbers and addresses, and the most important rule of all — never talk to strangers. For the older students, P.O. Campbell said he touched on different issues, like protecting their cell phones from thieves and, of course, avoiding drugs and alcohol. The officer’s visit was part of St. Agatha’s annual Catholic Schools Week celebration, which also included a Grandparents’ Day, a collection of goods for the local homeless shelter, a Student Appreciation Day, and a performance by the school choir.
