Maronite Catholics to honor Cardinal Egan

Maronite Catholics will gather on Friday, Oct. 26 at the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan for the Third Annual Benefit Dinner for the Eparchy of Saint Maron of Brooklyn.

The guest of honor will be Edward Cardinal Egan, archbishop emeritus of New York.
 
The evening will begin with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m., then dinner at 7:30 p.m. Individual tickets are $300. Tables range from $5,000 and up. Additional donations are encouraged, according to the dinner sponsors. Approximately 200 guests are expected to attend the event.
 
Proceeds from the dinner will be donated to he education of seminarians, funding missions, the renovation the Maronite Cathedral at 113 Remsen St., and helping retired priests.
 
The Eparchy of the Maronite is a Catholic diocese that serves 43 parishes in 16 states from Maine to Florida. It also supports a seminary, a convent and a monastery.
