A plan to replace bowlers’ paradise Maple Lanes in Borough Park with a 112-unit residential development is likely to “advance to the next frame,” reports the Bensonhurst Bean blog. While many support the "much-needed" multi-building residential development, to be called Maple Lanes Views, more than 700 people signed a petition to save the popular bowling alley.

Melissa B., a Bay Ridge resident, told the Home Reporter News, “It’s taking away the recreational fun."

The 52-year-old, 48-lane family business at at 60th Street and 16th Avenue -- which calls itself "Brooklyn's friendliest family owned and operated bowling center" -- will be replaced with the condo complex and a synagogue.
