Justice Herbert Kramer died on Oct. 28, 2012. A Brooklyn Supreme Court-Civil Term-justice since 1980, Justice Kramer was recently known for his work addressing the foreclosure crisis. Justice Kramer, working with Justice Carolyn Demarest, “started to see a pattern of "fraud, neglect, missing documents, failing to properly notify homeowners —well before any of these things hit the headlines.”
Funeral services were held on Oct. 31 at Shomrei Hadas Chapel in Borough Park. "Judge Kramer was an excellent judge, a terrific human being, and a personal friend. I will truly miss him," said Appellate Judge Sylvia Hinds-Radix. Those wishing to donate money in honor of Justice Kramer may send donations to One Israel Fund, 1175 West Broadway, Suite 10, Hewlett, N.Y. 11557.
