G Train Issue Gains Momentum

Public Advocate Bill de Blasio and several local elected officials have launched the 5 Stop Fan Club to lobby the MTA to keep G train service to Church Avenue. They have set up a Facebook page where visitors can click on links to the websites of local businesses near the train and can also send a message to the MTA from the page. The route was extended from Smith-Ninth Streets to Church Avenue in 2009 as a temporary measure. De Blasio is a former Brooklyn councilman.
