People who live in one Brooklyn neighborhood will get the chance to decide how state funds are spent in their area, thanks to Assemblywoman Rhoda Jacobs (D-Flatbush), who will host a community budget forum on Monday, Sept. 10.

The forum will take place at P.S. 152, 725 East 23 St. at 7 p.m.

Jacobs said the forum will provide residents with the opportunity to “directly participate and help decide how to spend state funds to benefit our community.”

Residents who attend the forum will be asked to prioritize the community’s needs. “Does your school need equipment or physical improvements that are not being addressed? Do you know of a non-profit organization that needs capital funding? Do you know of a community based organization that needs assistance to complete a project for your neighborhood? If so, this a wonderful chance to make needs known and to help me address them,” Jacobs said.
