Emergency town hall for Brooklyn’s 45th District on Thursday

45th District to host emergency meeting due to Sandy damage

Council Member Jumaane D. Williams (D-Brooklyn) will host an emergency town hall meeting on Thursday, November 8 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on the ongoing recovery efforts in the 45th District and surrounding communities from Hurricane Sandy. The town hall will take place at St. Therese of Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 4410 Avenue D, Brooklyn, NY, 11203

Homeowners, tenants and local businesses will connect with city agencies, utility providers and support groups to discuss recovery efforts, assist with applying for relief aid and prepare for future disasters.

The 45th District includes parts of Flatbush, East Flatbush, Flatlands, and Canarsie.

Participating organizatins include representatives from the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Community Board 14, Community Board 17, Community Board 18, Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce International, Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Parks and Recreation, Department of Sanitation, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Neighborhood Housing Services of East Flatbush and Office of the New York City Comptroller.
