Nearly two dozen dogs were rescued from a Sheepshead Bay home without heat or running water Thursday after investigators were tipped off that an elderly couple was hoarding the animals, according to the Daily News.

A neighbor on Avenue Y said you could smell the house from across the street.  One of the owners was shouting obscenities as the dogs were taken out of the house, the News reports. No criminal charges were reportedly filed.
