Good morning. Today is the 271st day of the year. The Brooklyn Daily Eagle for this day in 1901 complained that at least five schools in the borough had classrooms that weren’t used – at the same time as thousands of young people were lining up to get educated. School overcrowding was said to be so severe that the city was considering using the unused 13th Regiment Armory in Bedford-Stuyvesant for school space.
