Bernard, senior pastor of the Christian Cultural Center; the Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority; and the R&B group Full Force. … Ashea Management, a Brooklyn-based entertainment management and consulting company, will hold a networking event tonight at 6 p.m. at Eve’s Lounge, 769 Washington Ave., Fort Greene. … Today at 10:30 a.m., Congressman Michael Grimm (R-Staten Island/Bay Ridge) and state Senator Marty Golden (R-Bay Ridge/Dyker Heights/ Marine Park) will join Brooklyn business leaders in support of two-hour parking meters scheduled to be installed on Third and Fifth avenues this spring. The two-hour meters will help local businesses such as restaurants and beauty salons whose customers tend to stay longer than an hour.

The NYPD is seeking two men who robbed an 81-year-old man at the L train Lorimer Street subway station on Friday before pushing him onto the subway tracks. Police say one of the suspects stole the man’s iPhone. When the victim gave chase, the other suspect pushed the man, causing him to fall on the tracks. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS.

 

The Daily News reports that clients at the Northern Brooklyn Food Stamp and DeKalb Job Centers, which occupy the same office, have to wait hours before they get to see a professional. Clients and advocates charge that overcrowding plagues the Human Resource Administration’s food stamp and job centers in Brooklyn and throughout the city. At the DeKalb center, some clients say they have waited an entire day for service.

 

According to the Daily News, a Brooklyn woman who turned 101 this week said the key to a long life is serenity, a loving family and good food. Gavina Guadarrama celebrated with friends and family at the Vandalia Senior Center in East New York on Tuesday. “I have no secrets,” she said in Spanish. “It’s God. You have to be careful. You have to be nice. You can’t have stress in your life.” Guadarrama, who grew up in Puerto Rico before moving to Sunset Park 35 years ago with her marine husband, has never smoked or drank alcohol and she avoids fried foods.

 

Flavorwire spotlights the Bay Ridge-centric cable show “Brooklyn 11223,” Oxygen’s attempt at rivaling “Jersey Shore.” The show focuses on a group of 20-something friends who “spend the summer learning about themselves, friendship, and the price of betrayal.” The trailer includes shots of the Wonder Wheel, a hot pizza, tennis shoes on a power line, a man getting a tattoo, the Verrazano Bridge and a woman in a Giants jersey operating a kiddie ride.
