From tonight at 10 p.m. through Monday at 5 a.m., one tube of the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel will be closed as part of a project to replace 1950s-era electrical switches and feeder cables. Two-way traffic will be maintained in the other tube, with one lane open in each direction. … Fitness Collective at 278 Court St. has teamed up with local retailers to host Love Your Body, an event that will allow men and women to celebrate self-acceptance and promote a healthy and positive body image. The event will take place from noon to 2 p.m. … Tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Prospect Park, Urban Park Rangers skilled in the techniques of wilderness survival and emergency preparedness will be teaching essential survival skills. The program will take place at the Prospect Park Picnic House.

The NYPD is looking for a group of four thieves who target pedestrians. Police say they have been involved in at least five robberies in Brooklyn since November. According to WABC-TV, the bandits — two men and two women — stop to ask their victims for directions, then steal whatever they can grab before fleeing. A gun was used in at least two of the robberies.
 
An 81-year-old woman is recovering after she was shot by a bullet that flew through the window of her home on Barbey Street in East New York on Wednesday. Residents say a bullet pierced the window of Agripina Camacho’s first-floor apartment, hitting her in the cheek. Police are still looking for the shooter. Camacho is the grandmother of Detective Louie Camacho, a member of Police Commissioner Ray Kelly’s security detail.
 
An infant girl was found abandoned in a hallway of a Brooklyn housing project early yesterday near a broken cell phone and a bottle of vodka, according to NY1. The baby, believed to be about six months old, was found just past midnight in front of a seventh-floor apartment at a building on West 33rd Street, part of the O’Dwyer Houses. She was rushed to Coney Island Hospital and was found to be in good condition. Neighbors reported hearing a man and woman arguing in the hallway shortly before the baby was found.
 
According to silive.com, Staten Island state lawmakers are demanding that state Senator Velmanette Montgomery (D-Brooklyn) apologize after she publicly made a disparaging remark about the island in Albany yesterday. During a hearing about hospital cutbacks, Montgomery said she did not want to have to tell any of her constituents to go to the island for treatment, because “you know how none of us like Staten Island.”
