Good morning. Today is the 364th day of the year. On this day in 1902, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle carried the story of a reunion between a man and his daughter who had not seen each other since the daughter was five years old. When the man, Francis Rosborg, was on a trip to Europe, his wife ran away and placed their daughter in a convent. After she left the convent, the girl, now known as Ethel Hardy, began searching for her identity, but to no avail. At the age of 22, she married and honeymooned in Chicago. While there, they read a story in a Chicago newspaper of a former Brooklyn resident, now living in Chicago, who was still searching for the daughter he had lost when she was five years old. After an exchange of letters and photographs, the two finally met.

Well-known people who were born today include TV talk-show host Sean Hannity, basketball player LeBron James, Brooklyn-born Hall of Fame baseball pitcher and former sportscaster Sandy Koufax, TV news anchor Matt Lauer, singer-songwriter Michael Nesmith of the Monkees and golfer Tiger Woods.
