Good morning. Today is the 109^th day of the year. On this day in 1923, more than 74,000 fans attended opening day ceremonies at Yankees Stadium in the Bronx. For the New York World-Telegram, sportswriter Fred Lieb described the stadium as “The House That [Babe] Ruth Built,” and the name stuck. Previously, the Yankees had shared the Polo Grounds in Manhattan with the New York Giants.
