Police want to speak with a man who has allegedly been taking photos of young children in Prospect Park, according to NBC New York.

A concerned schoolteacher posted on an online community message board on Tuesday to alert local parents of a man “with a zoom lens taking pictures of the kids playing, including several young children with their nannies,” as reported by NBC.

When the teacher called the police to report the man’s actions, they informed her that they were already aware of the man and that they have been looking for him.

By the time police arrived at the park in response to the teacher’s call, the man had left.

A mother who spoke to NBC New York claims that she has seen the same man at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.

"He doesn't look very well-kempt, not necessarily homeless but may be," she said. "He has a really nice camera, and he's often in the Botanical Gardens and he takes pictures of kids."

Taking pictures of anyone in a public space is not illegal, but police are looking to talk with the man who is worrying parents.
