PARK SLOPE — The Brooklyn Lyceum, 227 Fourth Ave., will present the Brooklyn Mutt Show, “The Fun Alternative to Westminster,” on Saturday and Sunday, March 24 and 25.

Enter your pooch in the Mutt Show contests and find out if he or she has the softest ears, most animated tail or gives the sloppiest smooch. Visit the vendor displays to see the latest and best products for dogs from glow leashes to human-grade dog dinners to safe cleaning products for your pup’s environment. Meet and mingle with celebrity judges that range from “Doggie Moms” to local politicians, local authors and comedians.

The “Best in Mutt Show” winners in every contest will receive medals from the Lyceum plus doggie bags of goodies from Brooklyn Bark, a photo shoot by Brooklyn Beasts Photography (brooklynbeasts.com) and gift certificates from One Love Vet, Les Pets en Voyage, and Your Spoiled Pets.

Pet first aid/CPR classes will be held both days, taught by a representative of Brooklyn Bark Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Services and a veterinarian from Blue Pearl Emergency Veterinary Clinic. Agility and obedience training will be available from Sarah Westcott CPDT-KSA (doggieacademy.com).

Co-produced by the Brooklyn Lyceum and Brooklyn Bark, the Mutt Show is open to all dogs of any type, breed or lineage. In the words of Rachel Bowers, founder and owner of Brooklyn Bark, “All dogs are created equal.”

The Brooklyn Mutt Show will be a fundraiser for animal rehab in New York City, with the funds raised to be divided between Sean Casey Animal Rescue and the Wild Bird Fund. Sean Casey will have an adoption van on site with pups and kitties looking for homes. The Wild Bird Fund will be exhibiting some of the magnificent fowl they have rescued but that cannot be released, including a kestrel rescued after flying into a plate glass window.
