Families with members in the military frequently miss out on holidays and birthdays together. The Brooklyn Children’s Museum is helping to fill in the gaps by throwing a special birthday party for children of military personnel this Thursday, June 21, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Children of all ages — with or without a military connection — are invited to honor the families who sacrifice so much to serve their country, and who may have missed celebrating their child’s special day together.

The museum will be filled with balloons, birthday cake, special crafts, a group sing-a-long “Happy Birthday,” plus a musical performance by members of the Patriot Brass Ensemble. The ensemble is dedicated to improving the quality of life of veterans and military families through musical programs and services.

The Patriot Brass Band performance begins at 5:30 p.m. on the rooftop plaza. All families are welcome — military families who call ahead to register will receive preferred seating and VIP entry to the craft area.

Admission is free. Call 718-735-4400 x164.
