Mayor Bill de Blasio says the snow is very wet and heavy and New Yorkers should not take it lightly.

He quipped: “hire your local teenager” to help shovel the snow — a reference to his son Dante.

But he said Dante would be going to school because public schools remained open Wednesday despite the snow.

The mayor made his comments to a reporter for Fox “Good Day NY” while shoveling the walk in front of his Brooklyn home.

De Blasio also urged New Yorkers to leave their cars at home and use mass transit.
