If you’re walking down the Coney Island boardwalk at night or watching a Brooklyn Cyclones night game these days, this is what you’ll likely see when it gets dark. Coney’s landmark Parachute Jump was outfitted with lights in 2006, but Borough President Marty Markowitz was unhappy with the job. So he and other officials hired lighting design Leni Schwendinger an paid $1.5 million for a makeover. Now, the tower has 8,000 colored lights, up from 450 in the previous incarnation.
