CEO Maureen Maldari and her creative partner Rob Baiocco launched The BAM Connection at 20 Jay Street in DUMBO in late June. The BAM Connection is a branding and content creation agency that believes “Simplicity Liberates Creativity,” the team said.

The “BAM” in the company name has nothing to do with the Brooklyn Academy of Music, but is an acronym for “Baiocco and Maldari.”

The partners are former Grey executives who handled brands like Captain Morgan, Pringles, Aquafresh, DIRECTV, Botox and E*Trade. They say they intend to use that experience to take a “streamlined approach to branding and content creation.”

The BAM Connection opens with a list of clients that includes Terlato Wines, The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and Wrangler Western Jeans.

“The world of marketing is way overcomplicated,” Baiocco said in a statement. “And all that complexity sucks the life out of ideas, gets in the way of speed, and strangles creativity. Simplicity liberates creativity.”

The partners are enthusiastic about their move to the “digital tech triangle of DUMBO.”

“It was time big branding crossed the East River,” said Maldari, a Brooklyn native. “This is exactly what businesses need today, the seamless marriage of the two disciplines that matter most: branding and digital.  Everyone talks about merging. We physically brought our big branding experience and dropped it right in the middle of the DUMBO digital surround sound.”
